Our Lady Catholic School assumes operations of the Catholic Preschool

In late July the CTM was contacted by Harold Hunt, the long time maintenance man at Our Lady Parish.  The preschool equipment from the Ursuline Learning Center needed to be move to Our Lady School, and quick.  School was slated to start in mid August.  A group of CTM men (and some of our sons) sprang to action to get the job done.  We moved desks, tables, chairs, playground equipment and a couple of sheds.  The all day project gave us the opportunity to model masculine Christianity to our young sons while helping our neighbors.  There are some pics below from the day.

 ...with their parking lot.  It had become overgrown with weeds around the fence line and in some of the cracks in the parking lot.  With their "trunk or treat" coming up they wanted to be able to utilize the parking lot without having to work around the weeds and brush.  The CTM sprung into action and on a Sunday afternoon, 10 of the men spend the day with chain saws, weed eaters, and leaf blowers cleaning it up.  They took multiple loads of brush and weeds to the dump.  The artwork below was done by the children (ages 3-6) of Ursuline as a way of saying thank you.

 ...is supporting the needs of the local community in the unique ways that men are able to do.  This particular project is one that is going to take some time.  A parishioner approached us with some trees on his property that he wanted assistance removing.  He offered them as firewood to just make them go away.  The young man he approached, rather than using the free wood to support his own firewood business, put the CTM mindset to work.  What ensued was a project to get men together to cut and split the wood.  It will then be sold with all of the revenue from the project being given to the St. Vincent DePaul society.  From there, the funds will provide food and financial support to some of the many needy families in the area.
